tl;dr

I’m a product designer with a background in qualitative policy-based research. I’ve worked across diverse sectors in the non-profit, policy and tech start-up space. My work has always been grounded in understanding people and the complex realities they operate within — I apply this when it comes to design. I design with people, not for them, taking a systems-thinking approach to create solutions that work with, rather than against, everyday constraints.

My design journey

A quick dive

Learning to see systems through people

2021-2023

Built a foundation in qualitative, equity-based policy research, developing the ability to listen deeply, synthesize nuance, and understand how policies and systems affect people in practice — not just in theory.

Recognizing design in the work I was already doing

Mid 2023

Through policy research, I realized that centering human needs, mapping complexity, and balancing stakeholder perspectives closely mirrored design thinking practice — prompting a deliberate shift toward experience design.

Building on my design practices

2023 - 2024

Strengthened my design practice across research synthesis, interaction design, prototyping, and testing, learning how to translate complex insights into intentional product decisions — through a 9-month long course.

Learning to design with others

End of 2024

Completed servant leadership training that reshaped my approach to collaboration, facilitation, and co-design — grounding my practice in shared ownership and collective problem-solving.

Leading design for impact

Early-mid 2025

Led a team of designers in an agile environment to design a real-world dispatch and route management system, applying systems thinking and co-design methods to align digital tools with on-the-ground operations.

Presenting my design work at Civic Tech TO

Mid 2025

Designed and shipped core components of a civic tech MVP (Civic Dashboard). With the MVP launched, I had the opportunity to present my UX work at Civic Tech TO Hacknight! See it here.

Re-shaping my relationship with creativity

Mid 2025

Re-started my photography journey — I finally started understanding and learning to take better photos focused on capturing community, urban spaces and sometimes nature. This has really helped me learn to observe and take note of things. See my photos at @potraitnotlandscape!

Taking on design system work

Mid-late 2025

Shifting my focus toward complex enterprise products, currently establishing Anxilla’s first design system for a core airline admin dashboard, supporting scalable, reusable patterns across complex enterprise workflows.

and that's it... for now!

Living and working in Tkaronto, an area that has been care taken by the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Huron-Wendat for thousands of years. I come with respect for this land that I am on today, and for the people who have and do reside here.
